The Youth Empowerment Workshop is an engaging curriculum that was developed in response to parents who attended our Pull Your Pants Up! book signings throughout the city of Chicago. These parents were looking for additional resources for their at risk teenagers and urban youth doing well in school (both boys and girls).

Often times we tell our youth that they can be, do, and have anything they want in life, which is absolutely true! But are we arming them with the tools to assist them in meeting their goals? The main components of the Youth Empowerment Workshop are:

◊ Group exercises that encourage creative and critical thinking

◊ Feedback and advice on how to reach specific goals

◊ Completed action plan

Each student will learn:

◊ how to remain focused

◊ set goals and have definitive steps to achieving them

◊ foster dreams

◊ boost self-esteem by identifying strengths and building a life around those strengths

◊ use strengths to create a positive means of income
